"Provokes a philosophical argument about evil" - Time Magazine

PETER O'TOOLE AND ROBERT CARLYLE LEAD A STAR-STUDDED CAST IN 2003'S CONTROVERSIAL, CRITICALLY ACCLAIMED AND EMMY AWARD-WINNING MINISERIES

Hitler: The Rise of Evil

This October, Koch Vision announces the home video debut of HITLER: THE RISE OF EVIL, the "compelling" (Chicago Tribune), fact-based miniseries which garnered seven Emmy® Award nominations (including two wins) and enthusiastic critical response. Originally airing in May 2003 on CBS to a television audience of 12 million, the talented ensemble cast includes Liev Schrieber, Stockard Channing, Julianna Margulies, Jena Malone, Matthew Modine and Peter Stormare, as well as Peter O'Toole and Robert Carlyle in a ground-breaking performance as Adolf Hitler. Exploring the tyrant's rise to power during the years prior to World War II, from his childhood in Austria, to his emergence as absolute ruler of Germany in 1934, HITLER: THE RISE OF EVIL also includes the full-length documentaries, "Hitler: A Career" and "Reflections of Evil."

In HITLER: THE RISE OF EVIL, Scottish actor Robert Carlyle (28 Weeks Later, Angela's Ashes) stars as the burgeoning madman in a performance deemed "mesmerizing" by Newsweek magazine. Emmy Award winning actress Stockard Channing ("The West Wing", "Out of Practice") stars as Adolf's devoted mother Klara Hitler, and eight time Oscar® nominee Peter O'Toole (Ratatouille, Goodbye Mr. Chips, Lawrence of Arabia) stars as Paul Von Hindenberg, the German President who appointed Hitler to his Chancellorship in 1933.

Filmed on location in Prague and Vienna, the epic HITLER: THE RISE OF EVIL traces the mind of a young Adolf Hitler during his childhood and ruthless climb to power. Part one of the mini-series follows Hitler from his emergence out of the ashes of World War I as an anti-social youth turned failed art student, to his escape from homelessness into the German army, to his involvement in The German Worker's Party, growing hatred and anti-Semitism, and eventual imprisonment for high treason. Part two follows the imprisoned Hitler as he writes his personal memoir, "Mein Kampf," through his failed bid for the German Presidency, his appointment to Chancellor, and finally Hitler's realization of complete power over Germany and announcement of a new era - the 1000 Year Reich.
