Horrocks delivers a warm, winning performance as Ros Pritchard, a middle-class wife and mother whose frustration with politics as usual sparks a political uprising. Running on little more than charm, honesty, and common sense, she's swept up in an improbable campaign for Parliament and the former supermarket manager succeeds Tony Blair as Prime Minister. Then she faces the reality of governing while her family must cope with living in the modern media fishbowl. It's The West Wing British-style, with a populist anti-establishment bent. The terrific supporting cast includes Jodhi May (Daniel Deronda), Geraldine James (Calendar Girls), and Steven Mackintosh (Our Mutual Friend).
