"RICHARD LEWIS: CONCERTS FROM HELL: THE VINTAGE YEARS"
The "Prince of Pain" in a Triple Dose of Comedy
CHATSWORTH, CA (July 26, 2005) -- Image Entertainment, Inc. (Nasdaq: DISK), a leading independent licensee, producer and distributor of home entertainment programming in North America, today announced the September 13th home video release of "RICHARD LEWIS: CONCERTS FROM HELL: THE VINTAGE YEARS," a two-DVD set featuring 3 of Lewis' stand-up shows: Showtime's "I'm In Pain" and the cable ACE Award-nominated HBO specials "I'm Exhausted" and "I'm Doomed."
The reigning "Prince of Pain" finds the dark side of every topic, from his family and love life to every phobia on the planet. Voted by Comedy Central as one of the top 50 comedians of all time, Richard Lewis climbed to fame with his many appearances on the "The Late Show with David Letterman" and " The Tonight Show." He went on to star in the popular television series "Anything But Love" and currently can be seen in HBO's award-winning "Curb Your Enthusiasm", starring Larry David. Considered America's favorite neurotic, Lewis continues to sell out venues across the country, including New York's famed Carnegie Hall.
"I'm in Pain" features Lewis in his inimitable "stream-of-consciousness" improv style and includes tongue-in-cheek interviews with fellow comedians such as Billy Crystal, Robin Williams, Rob Reiner, Harold Ramis, Joe Penny and Richard Dimitri.
"I'm Exhausted" is a non-stop journey through Lewis' well-noted and riotous hypochondria as he discusses the absurdities of his life, traumatic family encounters and his ever-present succession of physical ailments and proves why he truly is exhausted. Cameo appearances include Garry Shandling, Steve Allen, Larry King and Jackie Collins.
"I'm Doomed" is Lewis as the kvetchy comic airing his neuroses, from his sexual inadequacies to his family dysfunctions, in hilarious not-to-be-missed "group therapy" skit with cameo appearances by Howard Stern, Mickey Mantle, Danny Aiello, Marv Albert, Angie Dickinson, Robert Goulet, Dudley Moore, O.J. Simpson and Ferdie Pacheco.
"RICHARD LEWIS: CONCERTS FROM HELL: THE VINTAGE YEARS" on DVD is a two- disc set and features 90 minutes of exclusive footage of a no-holds-barred discussion with celebrity biographer Bill Zehme (Carson the Magnificent: An Intimate Portrait, Lost in the Funhouse: The Life and Mind of Andy Kaufman).
