BRITISH TV PUSHES BOUNDARIES ONCE AGAIN WITH A SEXUALLY-EXPLOSIVE CRIME DRAMA FROM BAFTA AWARD-WINNER KAY MELLOR ("CORONATION STREET")

Fans of crime drama and "cross-the-pond" programmes, are certain to thrill to the newest steamy offering from British DVD specialist KOCH Vision -- all six hour-long episodes of the groundbreaking TV series, STRICTLY CONFIDENTIAL will debut to U.S. audiences on February 5. The acclaimed series from BAFTA Award-winning writer Mellor ("Band of Gold") originally aired in the U.K. in 2006, and stars " Coronation Street " alums Suranne Jones, Tristan Gimmill and Eva Pope, as well as Cristian Solimeno from "Footballers' Wives." The 2-DVD set, available for $29.98SRP, contains the complete series and also fully exposes the program with a 50-minute "behind-the-scenes" featurette.

In the intriguing series, which gained much attention for introducing audiences to one of the few bisexual characters in British TV history and pushing the envelope with its complex sexual themes, Linda (Suranne Jones) is a bisexual ex-police officer-turned-sex therapist who shares an office with her brother-in-law (Tristan Gimmill). Her life is further complicated by the fact that she and her husband, Richard (Cristian Solimeno), would like to have a child together, but are unable to conceive. The prospect of Richard's brother acting as a surrogate does not sit well with his own wife. Meanwhile, Linda is pulled into the seedy world of fetish and S&M when her ex-lover, Angie (Eva Pope), seeks her advice on a sordid murder case involving auto-erotic asphyxiation. When another body is discovered - this time one of Linda's clients - both her professional and personal life is put at risk in this sizzling miniseries.
