POLITICALLY INCORRECT COMEDY AT ITS FINEST WITH THE CULT CLASSIC FX NETWORK ORIGINAL SERIES
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia:
Seasons One & Two DVD Collection
Three Disc Set Includes All 17 Irreverently Hilarious Episodes Plus Outtakes, Scenes From Original Pilot, Making Of Featurette And More Available September 4th from Fox Home Entertainment
CENTURY CITY, Calif. - Bottom's Up! Knock one back at Paddy's Pub, the neighborhood watering hole run by Charlie, Mac, Dennis and his sister Dee - four hilariously warped and egocentric friends whose twisted world views and precarious judgments on serious social issues often leads to awkward and outrageous misadventures. This is the setting for the refreshingly raw and edgy FX original comedy series Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia that takes dysfunction to wickedly hilarious extremes, debuting with the first two seasons together on DVD September 4th from Fox Home Entertainment.
One of television's most politically incorrect shows that has been praised by critics as "so-wrong-it's-riotous" (TV Guide), "darkly funny" (Pittsburgh Post Gazette), "gleefully raunchy and hilarious" (Arizona Republic) and "downright uproarious" (San Jose Mercury News), It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia features some of the most vain, dishonest, self-obsessed group of friends since "Seinfeld" skewering such brazen subjects as abortion, underage drinking, molestation, gun control, homophobia and steroids with laugh-out-loud consequences. Starring newcomers Rob McElhenney, Charlie Day, Glenn Howerton and Kaitlin Olson, the series welcomed comedy legend Danny DeVito as a series regular in Season Two (marking his triumphant return to TV in over 20 years since his award-winning role on "Taxi"). Featuring all 17 First and Second Season episodes, the It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia Seasons One & Two three-disc DVD set is highlighted by cast commentary, scenes from the original pilot, outtakes, making of featurette and more. The DVD set will be available to own for the suggested retail price of $39.98 U.S. / $46.98,Canada.
Synopsis:
Mac (McElhenney), Charlie (Day) and Dennis (Howerton) star as three best friends who own Paddy's Irish Pub in Philadelphia, along with Dennis' sister Dee (Olson) who works as the bartender. In each episode, these characters have their own self-interest in mind, no matter how unique or mundane the situation. While they generally are interested in making the business successful, they sometimes have a greater interest in scamming one another. Serious issues such as racism, abortion, underage drinking, molestation, cancer and death somehow weave their way into the cockeyed universe of these four 20-somethings. The second season introduced Frank Reynolds (DeVito) as Dennis and Dee's estranged father, who tries to reconnect with his children and rekindle his misspent youth while in the midst of a divorce from their mother Barbara (played by Anne Archer).
