Two-Disc Set Featuring All Seven Episodes Available March 7
Culver City, CA (January 2, 2006) - Walking Tall, the popular 1970s three-movie franchise based on the story of real life Tennessee lawman Buford Pusser, was made into a TV series in 1981. On March 7, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will debut Walking Tall: The Complete Series on DVD, featuring all seven television episodes in a two-disc set. The DVD will be available for $29.95 SLP.
Reprising his iconic role as club-swinging Buford Pusser from Walking Tall Part II (1975) and Final Chapter: Walking Tall (1979), Bo Svenson (Kill Bill Vol. 2) plays the big, brawling sheriff of McNeal County, Tennessee. While waging a one-man battle against crime with a 4-foot club, Pusser achieves the reputation of a local folk hero. But at home, after his wife's tragic death, he's forced to assume the role of single dad to their two children, Michael (Rad Daly) and Dwana (Heather McAdam), with the help of his father Carl (Walter Barnes). His family always seems to find themselves in harm's way -- be it Michael being victimized by an angel dust outbreak and possibly suffering brain damage, or Carl getting kidnapped by a gang of bank robbers -- to complicate life even further.
