Culver City, Calif. (January 9, 2005) - Follow the adventures of the Wild West's biggest legends when The Young Riders Season 1 debuts on DVD March 21 from MGM and Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. Starring Stephen Baldwin (The Usual Suspects) and Josh Brolin (Into the Blue, Melinda and Melinda), The Young Riders Season 1 includes all 24 hour-long episodes from the first season in their original broadcast format and will be priced at $59.95 SLP.
Available on DVD for the first time, The Young Riders was rated one of TVshowsonDVD.com's top-100 most requested titles. Set just before the American Civil War, The Young Riders presented a highly fictionalized account of the heyday of the Pony Express. The series focuses on a group of young Express riders based at a waystation in Sweetwater, Kansas. Running the station is ex-Texas Ranger and all-around eccentric, Teaspoon Hunter, along with Emma, the Station's cook, housekeeper and mother hen. The riders included the future western legends William "Buffalo Bill" Cody (Baldwin) and James Butler "Wild Bill" Hickok (Brolin), as well as Ike (Travis Fine), a mute, Buck (Gregg Rainwater), a half-White/half-Kiowa scout and "The Kid" (Ty Miller), a quiet Southerner. Rounding out the all-male group of riders is Lou (Yvonne Suhor), a young woman living and working with the riders disguised as a boy. Guest stars the first season include: Cynthia Nixon (TV's "Sex and the City"), Chris Penn (Starsky & Hutch), Fisher Stevens (TV's "Friends"), Robin Strasser (TV's "One Life to Live"), and Ted Shackelford (TV's "Knot's Landing").
